Steve Yanda

Steve Yanda is a highly accomplished police officer in Northern Virginia. He currently serves as a Senior Field Training Officer and is a recognized expert in the field of police tactics. Steve’s passion is training others. He has enjoyed an exemplary career as a patrol officer and has paid his talents forward.

Steve is an adjunct instructor for the Department’s Tactical Training Unit. He is a certified trainer for TECC, Tactical Emergency Critical Care as well as active shooter/violence. Additionally, he holds his certified instructor credentials through the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy. Steve’s front line policing experience make him ideal to train. He has incurred vast experience during active incidents involving barricaded subjects, active violent encounters, and ultimately a recognized expert in human behavior. Steve’s training has carried him through Active Shooter Response (ALERRT). Steve is a certified CrossFit instructor. In 2018, Steve received the Departmental Medal of Valor.
